Go to http://www.usajobs.com/ for a listing of available positions within the Federal Government. Another way is to go through one of the internship programs. Visit http://www.opm.gov/ for more opportunties.

Or as other folks have mentioned you can work for a defense contractor (I do). Pay is better, however, you can't beat the benefits as a federal employee.

It's not that hard. For example, I live very close to the Pentagon. The civilian work force is larger than the military work force. Civilians are hired by The Department of Army, Navy etc. to do many functions of military work. This could be as office workers or intelligent analyst. It's wide open.

Usually you work for a contractor. I suppose it is also possible to go the civil-service route and get a job directly for DoD, but most people I know work for contractors.

i assume you want a second job. go to your command and ask for the chit to get a part time job. talk to your chief they can help you
