Go for the Renault.

The Audi is a nice car, but it'll never be as good as the Megane.
The Mercedes will break down or topple over.

Dynamique is a good spec for the Megane, so stop sitting here wondering what to do and get on over to the dealer and buy the damn thing!

the Audi is a good design with rock-solid mechanicals to easily rival the Mercedes, however it has not been a particularly strong seller. This probably means they are better value than the Mercedes second had.

The Megane is a good car and should serve you well, but it does not have the engineering or quality of either the audi or the mercedes, though it is likely to be cheaper.

For me, the Audi is the best compromise, it has the benefits of high-ranking makes like Mercedes and BMW, and thanks to not-so strong sales when new causing lower second hand prices, allows people like yourself the opportunity to capitalise on other people's ignorance.

Now all you need is to test drive a few of each and see what you like. Enjoy!

Take it from someone who works for a high end car maker, make sure you are prepared to pay a good amount for parts and labor to fix a Mercedes or something of the like if it's out of warranty. I always tell my friends to lease thier Mercedes until the warranty is up. Given the choice I would probably go with the Audi though, although I have no idea what a Magane is ;)

Audi is a great car but don't settle for anything less than quattro. mercedes nice but dated, Renault would be your best bet for mileage and comfort at a small price, and the engines are reliable. But the real answer is to talk to local owners of each and test drive.

It depends on how much you want to spend - why not look at the Alfa 147 range - don't go for German wannabes, go for something with a bit of italian style and charm....
