P-38 Lightning, SR-71 Blackbird.

YF-23A - Is the best looking plane. It was the prototype aircraft that looked better, flew better, performed better, cruised better, and was steathier yet lost the the flyoff with the victorius production USAF F-22A. Reason being, it had to much untested technology on it. Bit of a shame really...too high tech to go into production.
The Russian Su-27/33/35 & MiG-29 & third the
FB111- which is still flown in Australia is nice, and can wreck a country if appropriately outfitted.
***favourable mention goes to the the forward swept wing Su-47 Berkut(never made it into production either) & is Russian.
P.S. - Have a quick look on the net for these planes-they're fantastic ! - Hope u agree.

YF-23, like impala said I think the YF-23 was the wickedest fighter ever built. I have a stealth aircraft picture book it's awesome. To bad it lost out to the F-22. Both great proformers.

That's a toughie. The previous planes are all good lookers. I would also throw in the spitfire,constellation,XB-70,X-15,F-104,My personal favorite is the F-14.

I prefer the P-51B Mustang due to it's better streamling. But still get excited everytime I see a photo of the XB-70, it is So Awesome, but too bad it wasn't practical.

I always thought that the SR-71 Blackbird was a pretty mean looking machine. Very intimidating and cool as heck!
