Such as in movies of Land of the Dead or Dawn of the Dead. Be honest this is a serious question, but I'm just curious.

I frackin hope not, I am terrified of zombies, they make me feel clausterphobic as hell and the feeling only triplicated after I had kids. However, I don't think that we will ever be able to duplicate zombies to the extreme that hollyweird has created them. There may, however, be something akin to "28 Days" where a virus infects people into behaving irrationally. I could believe that more than "back from the dead to eat your brains" type of zombie. And for my 2 cents, "Shaun of the Dead" is a great zombie movie to watch.

They already do.

Keep watch around churches on Sunday mornings.

For that matter, take a look at Oxford Street (London) on a Saturday.

I get the feeling most people I come across on a daily basis are out to eat my brains... as their own clearly rotted away long ago from leading such dreary lifestyles. That goes tenfold for the religious nuts... I expect lobotomies are a compulsory part of becoming christian / muslim that they never mention in public.

Oh... right... you wanted a serious answer.
Well... I'd say it wouldn't take much to make humans even more brain-dead than they are now.... but to make it so that you can cut bits off them and they'll keep on crawling... effectively undead and incapable of acknowledging pain..... well.... they'd have to be pretty drugged up for that to happen, and I doubt that any mere pathogen could make it happen.
i.e. Not as such... no.
Individual zombies might be possible... but a contagious zombie epidemic in the literal sense.... Not a chance.

Actually, there was a virus that slowed down the human functions so much, that the person looked dead (LOOKES DEAD) , then they would bury the person alive (assuming that they were dead by the looks of the person) Then in like, a few days the person would dig their way up from the ground, and they would be insane. They would bite things or eat things because of starvation or insanity, ISNT THAT SCARY????? And it's true...:| That is a zombie impression.

I don't believe in the paranormal - and that includes zombies.

But I do believe there *can* be a disease - call it a virus - that can cause living people to react in ways similar to those movies, specially like *resident evil*. Except of course that "super human" strength. Where do they get that strength from if they are not eating? Virus or not, laws of physics or biology should not be overruled.

In a George Carlin bit he was making fun of people that believe in angels and he said "I figure if you're going to buy the angel $h!t you might as well go for the zombie package as well." So if people are running around believing in angels, why not, they probably have the same probability.

All I know is that The Zombies were an awesome band. Rod Argent was pretty wicked on the keyboards.

I think so. I mean people spend so much time sitting in front of the T.V. and playing video games a lot of them are already zombies.

Well, my friend just wait a month & you'll see plenty. These poor creatures are better known not as zombies but Christmas shoppers.
