My natural hair colour is brownish blonde, I have black hair now with the roots comming out, and i want to do it a natural red. How much black will lift if i get it professionally coloured? Will it work out to the red that I want? How light will it go?

They will probably bleach it first as the red won't cover the black. This can really damage your hair, your best bet is to get your colour stripped from your hair and then have it coloured red.

If you have a professional do it then you will get the color you want. To get from black to red is a fairly easy process. When the hair is being lightened from black to any color that is lighter it has to go through a stage where it will turn red anyway. So the colorist should lighten it until it gets to a red, then add a filler color to get you the red that you want. It will be less damaging to your hair too because you wil be lifting, but then you will be depositing which will equal things out.

A stylist can get all the black out, and put on a nice red. Drawbacks are your hair may be fried from too much being done to it. Use a very good shampoo and conditioner and u may want to go to a Sallys and get a really good once a week conditioner. good luck!

well, u can a try what is called "a bleach wash" which is basically stripping ur hair color but using shampoo mixed with the bleach, it won't harm ur hair as bad as just using the bleach alone, this has to be done by a professional so please don't try this urself, it will take a few times to remove all the color but it's better than just doing one dramatic change. good luck and make sure u go to see a color correction stylist, not just any hairstylist.

try using vosine shampoo which will strip the colour you got on your hair for a few weeks before you colour your hair again, I done the same thing and want to go lighter again and am finding that the colour is coming out slowly but it gives a nice shine and looks healthy (it doesn't smell great though),

Black is really really difficult to get out, trust me. The good news however is that when lightening it, if it's anything like mine, it'll go red instead of blonde.

Talk to your hairdresser as it will depend on how much and what type of dye you've already used.

This will really harm your hair becuase of the bleach working to get the black out.Let your hair grow out until your hair color is back then go ahead and dye it again.

The red will not look how you want it to because your hair is so dark! So you will have to dye it a couple different Times to det the color you want!!!!!!!
But you should go to a hairdresser and they will help you
Good Luck!
