How can you tell if mushrooms have gone bad? Also is it safe to eat mushrooms if they have been kept in the fridge for 6 days?

they have gone bad (dark brown, black, moldy), DO NOT eat them. Moldy or bad mushrooms may contain poisons and harmful bacteria that could make you very ill.
Can be kept in the fridge for a couple of days

I hate to say it, but if it's just a few brown spots, you should be fine. I've eaten those before with no ill effects.
Now if they're covered in brown spots and slimy, toss 'em. It's the old "when in doubt, toss it out" maxim.

yes...they are bruised and turning however they are still edible although i dont think i would eat them raw like in salad as they may have a texture that is softer than one would like...i would use them in something that had to be cooked...sauce, omelette, and the like
