There are actually two categories of appendicitis, acute appendicitis, comes on rather quickly, is severe and requires immediate intervention. Chronic appendicitis can cause pain and symptoms that are milder and can come and go over a period of time eventually becoming acute and requiring surgery. You really should make a doctors appointment for evaluation and the correct diagnosis aS it could also be something else entirely.
To above poster, appendicitis normally begins in the area of the navel and localization in the lower right comes later.

It still might be an irritated appendix, but as you don't sound like you are doubling up with pain, the coming and going of the pain sounds more like there is some temporary blockage in your intestines (if the words are incorrect: blame my poor english, I am Dutch). Try eating some fibers and drink a lot of water, that may help if your bowels are constipated.
But if the pain returns, by all means go see your doctor, he (she) will be able to tell you what's going on. Good luck!

Appendicitis is not in the middle of your abdomen, but in the rt lower quadrant. This may have been spasms in your sigmoid colon. How are your bowel movements?

Yes, you should. You're appendix may still be inflammed. I had this once and was prescribed antibiotics and it help greatly and I didn't have surgery for it. So please, call your doc before it gets worse. This can be life-threatening. Godloveya.
