He hid the ring in the cookie jar in our kitchen.....it was Christmas Eve. We always make gingerbread men each Christmas, and he came and got me from the family room to look at a gingerbread man he had decorated "just for me". I came out, looked in the cookie jar and there was the ring! I turned around and he was down on one knee holding our German Shepherd that had a sign around his neck that said "will you marry my dad?". It was so cute and I was so suprised that all I could do was cry and laugh all at the same time!! I eventually said yes!!

My husband plan the whole thing so it would be perfect. He started giving me hints now that I think about it, talking about jewlery, trips to the stores, and then there was a gathering that involved my family and mysteriously some of his family members showed up, and w/ a mic. got down on one knee w/ the biggest rock I ever seen in real life and that I can say is the second most perfect day of my life. Of course my wedding is the first for now.

We went to her favorite restaraunt with some of our friends before we went to a banquet, which was somewhat of a black tie affair. I slipped away from the table telling her that i needed to go to the restroom. I went to the car and got the ring and inserted into my coat pocket. When we went back to the car,
i opened her door and as she got in, I fell to one knee. When she turned around she saw the opened ring box with the ring in it... I said the normal Will you marry me(prepared a speech but forgot it, the nerves) her eyes filled with tears, and she hit me and said yes. Still not really sure why she hit me. The news preceded us and the banquet all most became like an engagement party thanks to all of the wonderful friends involved. It was great. I think I could have dine better, but she says no.

we were sitting on the beach on Lake Michigan at our cottage. We had a fire going and had stopprd at a winery on our way up, so we had a fantastic bottle of wine too. I knew the question was comming, I just didn't know when.
He got down on bended knee and asked me if I would spend my life with him. He then slipped a rounded piece of metal on my finger. He said we should pick out the ring together because I was the one who was going to be wearing it.
What he had put on my finger was part of a metal coat hanger he found at work. He cut a piece of it off and soldered it together with some of the tools he used for computer repairs. I found out later he managed to make the fire alam go off while he was soldering it and he got chewed out royally for it. (He was working at a hospital attached to a university at the time)
I wore that metal ring the entire time we were married.

wait and notice and wait till at last you have a gamble to talk in individual. i realize it must be killing you for now... you're meant to be thankfully accepting congratulations from pals and relatives yet you have this dark cloud over your head. This 2d hand hear-say is undesirable information. do you already know what the "his doubts" have been even based around? possibly it somewhat is using his protection tension profession, which would be demanding on a marriage. Marriage is meant in ordinary terms for people who've finished believe in one yet another. i think of it may be sensible to have an prolonged engagement and not push on the marriage making plans. this is going to all unfold in case you enable it. enable him be the single to compliment on the date and ask you back to marry him then.

1st Husband: took me to a waterfall and read me poetry, then proposed (marriage lasted 3 and a half years, then I caught him in bed with one of my mates, they had been sleeping together for 6 months)

2nd Husband: we were in the pub one day and he said "So when are we getting hitched then?" not very romantic, and that marriage also lasted 3 years, after which time I found out he had cheated also)

we had talked about it, we bought a ring but it needed to be the correct size. The day it was ready to be picked up, he was working on a car and gave me the receipt and told me to pick it up. That was it.

I sit back now and kick myself. That should have been a HUGE sign for me of things to come.

....if I would have only had more self esteem at that time...
