For me it's not a question of if it works, it's a question of do I do it and the answer is no. I never did being raised as a christian and I have never used it throughout the years. I am an agnostic who believes we each have the power to do things for ourselves without leaning on something unknown.

Actually, it is through prayer and faith in God's will for me that assists my prayers in being answered. And sometimes when the answer appears to be no, it is because God had a better plan for me that what I had originally, because I asked for His will in my life and not mine. So it's not so much the prayer that works, but the faith in God's will behind that prayer.
You see.... I know what I would like from God. but I ask for what God wants for me instead, and His choice for me is always greater and better than what I thought I originally wanted to begin with. Praise the Lord!!

Yes God does answer the prayer but the answer is not always yes.
