The glue on my sink skirt sucks. Does anyone know a good adhesive to stick a sink skirt (thin plastic) onto a ceramic sink? I have tried velcro and some other elmer's like junk. What will work on these two substances, it really looks nice when on. Thanks.

use Velcro, get the kind that sticks on both sides, and perhaps sow the other side on to the fabric part, this way it would also be easy to take off, and clean.

The ceramic sink is non-porous and therefore not much will stick to it. I would suggest you do this in 2 steps.

First I would take some sandpaper and rough up the sink a bit to open the pours. Then I would use an epoxy glue mixture (you can get at Home Depot) and attach a strip of plastic to the the correct length and width. of the area. Then I would also attach a piece of plastic to the cloth you are using for the skirt. Sew it on with a sewing machine.

Then use a contact adhesive to connect the 2 pieces of plastic together. Contact cement is the type you need to apply to both surfaces and let dry to the touch. When you put both pieces together contact cement will hold. It is the same stuff used to hold Formica to the counter top.

The plastic should be very thin and flexible for best results.

Hope this helps!

First of all, Ceramic isn't strictly designed to accept adhesion.

You might try "Liquid Nails" or other similar contractor adhesives,,,,OR contact adhesive. The issue will remain however, and it might be an ongoing one.

Both are non absorbent substances, and likely the CERAMIC at least is also naturally slippery.

I do have a suggestion that involves some skill and effort.

Is this a pedestal sink? or one that hangs off of a wall?

You could craft a frame to support the "skirt" and slide it under the sink.

With no offense meant, and understanding that the install might look like it's meant to HIDE something, why not consider a vanity / sink?

I am not exactly sure how much room you have as a surface to glue to, but three of the best adhesives are Gorilla Glue, Locktite 404, and F26. You might also try some two-sided tape from 3M. Usually all 3M products are the best on the market. Hope this helps!!!

A real sticky question this one.

I would suggest using the same adhesive as you used on the ceramic tiles.

Liquid nails makes excellent adhesives. They have several kinds for different applications.Check the label for which one will work best for you.I think they sold at both Lowes or home depot.

If you want something that works - get yourself some LePages PL700 ...... its the professionals choice and it will bond your two surfaces together (not to mention other surfaces as well).
I recommend these products often to my customers as I know they work.

I would try rubber cement. Smells bad at first, but should do the trick. Can buy it anywhere.
