Does Albert hold a meeting to tell them all that at 7am 10/23/06 we are leaving for Kentucky. be there or be square.

Seriously though they all leave together, whether to migrate or to eat in a field. Isabelle almost answered my question.

It's natural instinct, when the temperature drops they gather in flocks in the canadian prairies to make a migration southward to find food & shelter. I witnessed this 2 years ago in Canada while duck hunting.

very reminiscent of NASCAR, something of the ducks prepare "drafting" wherein they're extremely pulled alongside by the momentum of the lead goose. The lead is shared by the greater fliers. while one gets drained, yet another takes over.

Mother Nature. She tells them she's turning off the heat and turning up the air conditioning.

I read that animals are born with an instinct that tells them when it's time to migrate. :)
