Alias has a way of keeping its programs from being hacked for free so you can try some other free 3d programs.
Go to www.download.com and click on 'design tools' from the list on the left. From there click '3d modeling and CAD' from the list on the left. Then when the list loads go to the choice tabs and choose your OS, then choose free, and then click filter. Look at each and click on the names of the ones you think suit your needs to get a description and when you find the one you like download it.
Best of all- they are FREE not $1,000 or $2,000 like 3Ds Max or Maya

u can't get the full version for free... but u can download the 30day trial version for free which is equally good.
