Does the fact that it's impossible to enforce this in these modern times upset the devoted?

All ha-ha's aside, This question strikes at the root of most fundamentalist attitudes. And most fundamentalists will become extremely upset by such a question even as their responses will reveal the twisted logic they use to support such censoring. Some will state such things as "Garbage In, Garbage Out" to support their view that cenuring out other view points is a 'protection' from the seductive lies used by "______" (the devil, the infidel, etc.).
> During my lifetime and from my experience, religion has often been used to censure and to control. (This is one of the reasons that I no longer participate in ANY form of organized religion, be it Christian, Muslim or Pagan.) And, if we examine the history available to us, we can even still see the evidence of such censoring in events such as the infamous Witch hunts/murders, the Spanish Inquisition, the persecutions of dissenting believers, etc. . . .
> I don't know that I can agree fully that it's not possible to enforce this censure in these modern times. After all, look at the Taliban. Consider the oppression of Muslim women in parts of the Middle East. These are extreme examples, and there are examples here in the good ol' USofA that are less extreme but just as coercive.

Why would it upset us? We believe that as Christ said "my sheep hear my voice and they follow me" We are only messengers, it is God who draws the lost sheep of His fold to Himself. All who are His children will eventually obey His voice and come home to Him. As we have confidence in our God to accomplish any and all things He wishes to do, why would anything upset us? Fear, indecision and worry is of the devil, only if we listen to him to we get off track. It is not impossible to enforce God's view points or way of life on folk. It is enforced with those who have ears to hear and walk in an upright way that brings peace, joy, love and understanding.

Good question. I think you have a point. If all Religions believe in a God, why so many differing Religions? Because.. they want their way to be the right way and not the way of the others.

It doesn't upset me, we will ALL find out what will happen come judgement day whether you believe or not, but it will not look good for the non-believer. Why do you think Christians talk about Jesus Christ to the non-believer, to try in some way to get them to know Jesus Christ. You may not believe in heaven and hell but both are very real and like God a Christian doesn't want you to go to hell.

hahahha
some people do use beliefs in this way yes
sorry though, religion is about you, not anyone else
it upsets everyone with a heart that there is such suffering and violence in the world, but ultimately spirituality cannot be enforced lol, it can only be allowed to flower

I don't get upset by it. I just want the truth to be offered so people can chose for themselves.

There is no 'censuring', it is either you follow God's Word, or you don't. There is no third choice.

And with God, all things are possible.
