My neice was walking 8 to 9 months old, but my little girl was 15 months without holding on to anything. Kids r all different, some r faster at some things & some or slower at other things. It all balances out.

My first one who is now 5 yrs old started walking fully ON HIS OWN at 9 months. My second who is now 2 1/2 started walking on his own when he was 13 months. Now I have a 10 month old girl who is taking baby steps as long as she holds on to something, but she's not walking on her own yet.

I have 2 sons, my oldest started walking without holding onto anything when he was 11 months old, and his younger brother started walking witout holding anything when he was 10 months old. They're built a little different. My oldest was alot chubbier when he was a baby, and my youngest was very thin, so I attribute my youngest walking earlier to him having a little less ... gravity in the middle.

#1, although seven weeks prem, was walking by holding on or on a 'walker' from about 10 mos. First unaided steps, 14mos almost to the day.

#2, only 8mos old, so we're still waiting.
