no it is not possible to just get better after one attempt at treatment. mental illness is a up and down thing. it takes a long time to get better. some people cant get better but they can manange their illness in a way that allows them to lead a fairly normal healthy life. sometimes several treatment options have to be tried before the best one for that person is found. Personally i have been in treatment for several years and am just now finding something that works. a person with mental illness needs a tratment team including a support system, a doctor, a psychritiast, and a therapist. It can take a long time for a person to get to a place where they have a good quality of life.

Mental illnesses such as schizophrenia are too complex to analyze or advise on with such sites as these.

The causes are many and varied such as environment, imbalance, and hereditary and must be looked at "holistically" or with a broader picture than the "one-dimensional" chat line.

I know of many who have cured themselves all through different approaches and I know others who just manage the disease with "medications". A professional is needed to diagnose and analyse such a complex disease.

I would not listen to religious or cultish advice although prayer (raising the eyes up to the sky" in hope-- and meditation such as "calming" and accessing your own center or "self", (not obedience to a Master, Guru, or cultish systems, which claim that to surrender to someone (usually a "man", will make you better), can sometimes bring comfort and calm and relaxation.

You have to understand how this work people that are sick in the head know what to say to make people think their all better so they don't have to go anymore but sooner or latter it comes back and they have to go back because they can't take anymore. I know this because I have been on meds on and off all my life and I feel better so I stop taking them And then I go do stuff I would not do if I was on my meds But now a 31 I know I need to be on my meds There is no cure for mental illness

I think you are asking, why does the mental illness recur later if something cured it earlier. If it is truly mental illness or wrong thinking and not something else wrong with the body, and stress from a bad environment and circumstance, then the person is likely to have it happen again. I am not completely sure why, but it is so. Probably something to do with the etiology of the illness.

Psychiatric problems are nothing but chemical secretion in the brain cells which make you depressed. Once you take pills for the illness, your problems recedes but not eliminated.

You have to think of alternative medicine like meditation which is beautifully designed in a meditation system called sahaj marg
