The psyk. and medi. test is OK. my background is technician and now since 6 years proffesional competence of driving regional and longdistance bus. Avaition has always been within the family as well for me since birth.

Sounds like you should go for it! You're definitely not too old! A close friend of mine just did the same and he's our age.

i bet you didnt fly anything when you were young. your too old now to take the tests required for cpl.you should have taken them when you were in your 20s or early 30s.airlines dont want to hire older pilots and bus driving isnt flying.im 53 so i know what im talking about. any large corporation will not hire older men.and the large airlines wont even let you in the door. age has alot to do with getting a decent job these days and you should have thought about getting your private pilots cert a long time ago.im not trying to be cruel but you really need to be younger to even think about a cpl.

If you meet all the criteria then most likely not. However, don't think you are just going to some flight school, take a test, then go out and get a job with a commercial airline! WRONG!!!!!!!
They are very stringint on who they hire, more so now after the 911 ordeal, and you need many many many many many many hours of flight before you would even be considered. That is why most pilots are former military pilots!(among other reasons)

Tush 42 your in your prime...if your fit ( and you sound it) why not....people are living longer than ever at 42 you could have another 40-50 fit years ahead of you..good luck..
