Gambling is not addictive in the true sense of the word. Some people however become obsessed with gambling. They enjoy the rush of a win, or the risk of a loss. For people who become obsessed with gambling, it can look very much like an addiction. They hide their losses, they hide their behavior, and some of them don't stop until they lose everything.
Unfortunately there are many things like this in life. Cults, alcohol, smoking, drugs, pain killers, fast motorbikes, pornography, prostitution, adultery and more. There is little that we as a society can do about it. Some people will always find a deviant behavior and become addicted to it.
There is no simple solution to this problem. We can't ask that the government ban everything that people could potentially become addicted to, or we would live in a ridiculous nanny state where the government tried to control everything 'for our protection.' Society instead simply needs to provide support and assistance for those that lose their way.

Absolutely it is. I went to a casino out in Wisconsin last year, first time I had ever been inside one. It was so much fun, that before I realized it, six hours had passed. It can be very addictive and I can see how people lose everything by gambling. Not a good thing. It is best not to start, can definitely become an obsession.

Certainly, it is addictive because every gambler wants to be a winner only. Nobody wants to lose his money or failure, so he does something risky and hopes to get a win. The more he gambles on something such as the horse or the stock exchange, the more he indulges in it. Finally, he is unable to stop. Besides, one who addicts in gambling called a gambling addict. Therefore, gambling is addictive.
Actually, there are several effects of gambling such as loss of wealth and fame. His words are unreliable. In addition, he becomes one who is likely be refused for his marriage from the other.
The support to those who lose their wealth from gambling is not a very effective way. There must be additional and efficient ways used to solve these problems. For example, everyone should be educated about the consequence of gambling addiction. And, the government should issue the measures to contain the gambling industry. Recently, in some countries such as the U.S. there is a new law of banning online gambling transaction. This can be another efficient way to solve the gambling problems.

Anything that can make you feel strong emotions is potentially addictive. Gambling like alcohol, drugs or even shopping can have potentially disastrous consequences for those prone to addition. Those with addictions of any kind should seek help.
That being said, those of us who are among the majority of adults who can enjoy gambling with out become addicted or financial ruin shouldn't be punished because of the few who do. Should shopping and sex also be banned they have the same potential for addiction that gambling has.

Absolutely. However - just like anything else - it depends on the person. Some people can't handle gambling - they gamble with money that CAN'T afford to lose (rent money, mortgage money, money for bills, etc.). Those people should seek out help ASAP before their life goes in the toilet.
Other people CAN handle it - and view gambling money as entertainment money.......some people go to movies, some people go to concerts, some people gamble. If a person is responsible and has a gambling bankroll....money specifically set aside for that activity - then there's no problem with it.

I have been gambling for a lot of years and it certainly is addictive. I don't think it is addictive to all people who gamble. Only the ones who once started cannot stop until they are broke. It is a terrible and deadly addiction. I have known people who have commited suicide over it,

Gambling is addictive in the same way that anything you get enjoyment from can be addictive (food, drink, smoking etc). Obviously, addictions affect some people in different ways - some are inherent addicts and some can take it or leave it.

Sure gambling is addictive. Some people have a real problem with it. I've made plenty of bets with people like this and have taken their money. That's why there's places like gamblers anonymous and 1-800-bets-off.

i got here across an component in a sport and it paid out as nicely by way of fact the sting could, then I went a protracted time with out substantial winnings. i ultimately became it around, however the winnings have been so small it became no longer worth it. The smoke is a discomfort. In concept, a individual could desire to count selection unmarried and double deck video games and make $1000 an afternoon enjoying 10 hours an afternoon with $30k to start. yet, any on line casino can kick you out and you may characteristic shuttle from on line casino to on line casino on that. So it quite is greater like 12 hours an afternoon in the desolate tract, surrounded by smoke. No thank you. it quite is not addictive like heroin, no w/d or actual habit. in case you have been a action picture celebrity making a million a action picture and you lost it, you may want it returned and attempt to make it artwork; its greater like that.
