when my dog meets other dogs he drools all over the other dog. he is a lab mixed with german shep, loverly friendly dog.no problems at home and never drools at home he is our only pet.

He's obviously a very happy dog and pleased to meet other dogs. As he's an only pet he enjoys meeting up with his own kind and gets over excited. Maybe you should consider getting a doggy friend for him.

Its because he gets excited - the fact that he is friendly shows that he really enjoys the company of other dogs. Dogs also have glands that get stimulated by the smell of other dogs and salivating is linked to that.
Although its a bit embarrassing when you dog leaves strings of drool on other people's dogs, it is one of those doggy traits that we endure because we love our pets!

It is a reaction to the other animals. When an animal is extremely happy/excited it drools. My cat sometimes does it as well.

dogs sweat through saliva glands maybe the dawg is stressing over other dawgs or maybe hes just excited.
i do it every saturday night with most girls and even the ones that are a bit of a dawg lol.

my dog was doing this i took him to the vets and they said it was because he was horny he was snipped to. the only other reason for this that ive heard is rabies
