the mind is very very strong (mind over matter). If this girl is struggling with the thought of not seeing him again, or of him possibly being smitten by another, yes it can definitely make her sick. I imagine she isn't eating, sleep may be difficult (unless she's depressed, then she's probably sleeping a ton), etc.
Yes, I do believe it could happen.

Yep- it's called a broken heart. Even if they are still together, not being with him every day will cause the serotonin in her brain (happy hormone) to drop, causing her to crave more of the hormone and more of him. It can lead to depression and physical illness.

like me, i have sleepless nights and i get this very nasty headache in the morning...i feel stuffed...yes, it's all in the mind; you feel weary when you miss someone that truly knocks you off your feet..
