I'm 28 and going back to school in the spring. I will be working full time. I am so scared. One of the reasons is I feel like I will be burnt out for the next how ever many years it will take ti complete my degree. I also feel like I wont have any time for my husband. Can anyone take my fear away? THANKS!

I don't have children. I do however have a mortgage and cannot afford not to work full time. It would be nice though! :)

In my mid-thirties I made the decision to go back to school, although I had a part-time job and two young children.
Five years later I had an upper second class dual honours degree and felt on top of the world.
Looking back, I don't remember the hard work, poverty, sleepless nights, juggling so many balls at once etc
Go for it girl- you will never know if you don't try!

It is quite daunting, you really need to think about whether you can live how you think you will be for the next several years.
Working full-time, you will already be itred from the day's work and will you have the energy and concentration to study? Do you have children as well? Although it is the most cost effective way, perhaps you could think about getting a student loan and study full-time instead, and get a part-time saturday job as well. Taking the decision to go back to study - you must have some goal in mind and concentrating on your degree to get good marks may not be a bad idea. Both ways have pluses and minuses but just think about how you want to be living and whether you'll be able to sustain whatever you choose for the next three years minumum - the psychological and emotional issues are moe important than you think.

I am 42 and recently started attending college. It's very scary to go back but once you are there you will see its okay.

You need to figure on at least 3-5 hours of homework PER EACH CLASS so if you are going full time and working full time, you will have little time for your husband. Depending on what classes you take, (English 111, Humanities, etc.) there is a lot of writing and I am talking 5 pages and up plus research.

I had to quit my job to go to college full time and my wife works as a substitute teacher so she has to work around my schedule. Its tough to find time to spend together so you really have to make some time.

Take a saturday or Sunday afternoon or evening and push schoolwork aside and justr spend some time together

I'm 21 and will be returning in the fall, working full-time as well. I'm also a little nervous about having all my free time taken up by homework and my job instead of what I want to do. Unfortunately I cannot quell your fear but I can offer my empathy--at least a bunch of us will be suffering together.
