I own some pet pigeons,

The babies are realy cute.

Pigeons are good at keeping there babies hidden but somtimes you can see them baby pigeons all over.

Some babies look like adults already so you may not reconize a baby when you see one (They have yellow feathers on there head at a teenish age).

Baby pigeons are called squabs, there born with soft yellow feathers and they'll leave the nest at around 6 weeks old or more.

There realy cute and pigeons make great pets there are so many breeds some with fancy feet, crowned heads, beautiful neck feathers ect...

Not just pigeons! Birds fall into one of two categories: first there are the kind that have babies that are able to get around and take care of themselves, to some degree, almost right out of the egg (ducks, chickens, etc.). Then there are the kind that hatch naked and helpless and stay in the nest until they are virtually the same size as adults. You can see plenty of the first kind of babies around ("precocial"), but you will rarely see the second kind ("altricial") unless there's a camera pointed at their nest or they have fallen. Pigeons are the second kind.

I used to have quite a few pigeons. The female usually has 1 chick, sometimes 2. They stay in the nest and are continually fed until they can fend for them selves. I've even seen some of the mothers feed what look to be adult size pigeons

They stay in the nest until ready to fly.

You are a hundred times more likely to see songbird "babies" because they nest in the tree in your front yard. Pigeons nest on tops of buildings downtown, where few people visit.

Betcha still haven't even seen the baby birds that live in your yard, unless they fell fron the nest or died.

I see them all the time. I live where I can see some nests, and I see the babies a lot. They are almost as big as the parents when they finally leave the nest, though, so that's why people think they don't see them.

They stay in their nests and their parents feed them until it is time for them to learn how to fly. By that time they are usually the same size as a grown up pigeon and therefore the aren't babies anymore.

Because they're tucked away in nests, which themselves are usually tucked away in the hidden recesses of buildings.

I think because they are quite big by the time they learn to fly, so we just assume that they are adults when we see them.

Okay, okay -- 'because they stay in the nest' is a good answer and all, but here's the real reason:

"Fresh squab is available throughout the summer months (year-round in some regions) in gourmet markets..."

Heh, heh...
