I met my ex boyfriend of 7 years after a long gap and he seemed v sad. He finished it so is love possible?

Neither of us had really grown up and he finished it which resulted in me being very depressed and ill for a number of months. Although I love him very much and am still sad I've been getting on with life and when I bumped into him he seemed sad and keen to meet up for "a cup of tea" to say hello. He also acted quite jealous about any potential men I may have! I'm confused as I love him and worried if I meet up i'll be very sad and let down as he'll only want to say "hello" but the signs he gave out to me were that he missed me and still wanted to be with me (despite finishing with me)?? Should I meet up with him or not?
