use a gentle scrub first then try a shaving oil rather than foam/gel. Don't take the razor over the skin without reapplying. Use clear tepid water to rinse then apply a good moisturiser. My hubbie has problems for years and we picked this tip up from Queer Eye for the Straight Guy purely by accident. It works a treat as long as you don't let your stubble get too long. Only use a downward action or go in the direction of hair growth and use a shaving brush to apply the oil as it stimulates the hair follicles and blood supply to the skin making it easier. Try Boots own Botanics range as well as they have everything you will need x

Try an electric foil shaver preferably with a cleanable head.
Do not use the round cutter style.

I've heard this stuff does wonders...

Other than making sure you use a new razor, lots of shaving cream....maybe some hydrocortizone (Cortaid, e,.g) if the irritation persists.

Make sure you use a non-disposable razor - those Bic ones are deadly! Also, make sure your blade is sharp. I'm not sure if using an electric one would help. I found them to be pretty awful as it cut me all over my chin, but I haven't used one for a long time so maybe they're better now.

My husband came up with the one sure-fire solution - he stopped shaving. Now he has this soft, sexy beard instread of stubble or raw skin. I love it!

I have heard that shaving after you have a shower (i.e. after lots of warm water on your face) helps.

My fiancee gets this also. He has tried absolutely everything. So he has resorted to using a trimmer meant for his hair on his head. It doesnt get it really close, but its better than a huge rash.

I'll keep reading this coz i want ideas for him too xxx
