I had twins June 2002 and stayed 5 days. It depends on what your insurance covers you for, if you have complications, and what kind of delivery you have.

In our twins club there were some moms who went home within 24-48 hours with vaginal deliveries and no complications. There were some with c~sections who went home in 3-4 days with no complications. Others stayed as long as 5-7 days.

I was given the choice to stay and extra night as both girls needed to stay in the nicu for almost 2 weeks. I ended up going home to my parents house~they lived in town we lived an hour away. Anyway, I figured I would sleep better and had help if I needed it.

Most of the time you are unable to drive for almost a week sometimes two. Questions to ask yourself would be do you have somone to drive you to the hospital if twins need to stay. Also, if you run in to compications after discharge is someone there to help you?

Good luck!

Depends on how the babies are when they are born. My girls were born with barely any complications. My one twin had some issues holding her body temp so she had to stay under the belly light for a few hours. After that she was perfectly fine. I spent 2-3 days in the hospital and then we went home. My girls were born through c-section as well. (my 3rd c-section)

If twins are born early, then they would have to be in the hospital for awhile.

i had healthy twins and 2 surgerys (a tubal, and wrist ) and was discharged 24 hrs later. i think they just wanted my girl to leave the nursery cuz she was always hungry and complaining. (joking) It all depends on if they are premature , how much, and what condition you are in. they will try and re admit you if you were to want a tubal for example, in a 6 week time frame so they get more money that way. i however, insisted the surgerys take place b4 i went home cuz there was no coming back in 6 weeks, i would be too busy. they finally agreed to it.

ok i used to work in the post partum department at a hospital. i can say this if you have the twins vaginally you go home in 2 to 3 days. if you have a c section you go home in 4 days. it all depends on the health of your babies when they go home. usually if everything is fime with them, they go home with you. if they are preemie then they go home when they are cleared and strong enough....just depends on who their doctor is. normally if you dont have any complications before, during and after delivery and if your doing fine you only stay for 2 to 3 days. 4 days if you have a c section. i hope this helps.
