I have a daughter(she is 11) and a son(he is 3).When I leave them at home and go to work(in the afternoon because till that time my daughter is at school) my son behaves wonderful but when I get back he misbehaves and only my daughter is capable of getting him back to usual behavior,he listens her only and never me.When I want him to go to bed or return his toys at the place or do anything easy for him,he never listens and never doesn't obey.I sometimes spank him but that doesn't work,time-outs and punishments and getting away priveleges and toys also doesn't work. But when my daughter tells him do anything,he always listens and does it.She has never spanked or yelled at him and I cannot understand how does she make him do anything. They have unusual brother-sister's relationship, they are always allies in anything. How can I make him listen to me too?

Love him and be nice to him. he identifies with his sister because he thinks that she's there for him, you are not. Slowly turn him around so that he starts liking you, and don't criticize his sister in his presence, don't scold her.

This situation is very normal as they both share the same world as kids. And he spends a lot of time with her and that will make him more comfortable when he is with her. Therefore, don't worry too much about it as he will start listening to you soon. Also sine he is only 3 years old, he will think that you are a devil since you always spank him and scould him. I would suggest that you try using a more soft method with him such as sit and talk to him on why it is important that he puts his toys away or go to bed early. It might take some time before he starts listening to you but eventually he will understand and so so. And ues, they do share a special bond with each other as they are siblings. Don't worry so much and use the gentle way when you are with him. Good Luck :)
