my friend gave me paracetamol for my headache. but didnt say anything about how much/often should i take it.

The usual dose is two 500mg tablets every 6 hours.

You have not mentioned your age !
For adult, one tablent of 500mg can be taken thrice daily for fever ! For headache, one tablet should be okay..but do not take on empty stomach ..! Take it with coffee or tea as caffeine will relieve the headache better Though safest antipyretic, the maximum dosage we can have is 5 to 6 tablets in 24 hours ! More than that..it can be hepato toxic !
It is the safest drug in the world...for the pain as well as for fever !

you can take the tabs with water at a gap of 6 hours atleast.

its 10mg/kg per day. just divide it after. :D
