Wash your face morning and evening with a facial cleanser. If your skin is prone to break outs, then use an astrigent as well. Every so often you could use a scrub. If you have a pimple, (this will sound weird, but it works) before bed, dab a little toothepaste on it (not gel). It will shorten the life span of the pimple. I've done it a lot. You could also use acne cream during the day.

I struggled with acne for years and I finally found the solution that works for me. We have been fooled, tricked, deceived, and just plain lied to. It's time that someone put a stop to it, and everyone learn the truth!
Those of us who suffer from acne have usually been given 2 choices and neither of them work:
1. Over the counter remedies such as cleansers, creams, ointments, etc. These things have been proven over and over again not to work. Why? It does not address the root cause of the problem.
2. Go see a doctor and or dermatologist. They will generally prescribe prescription drugs which include topicals and or antibiotics. This, too, has been proven over and over again not to work. Why? It does not address the root cause of the problem.
I found a step-by-step program that cured my acne and it has never come back. It is amazing and doesn’t use any drugs or doctors. The truth is that acne can be cured…if we know the secret the doctors and drug companies don’t want us to know.
There is a great website: http://cure-my-acne.info/3daycure/ that has all the details. I really suggest you check it out and see if it works as well for you as it did for me.

Wash it a couple times a day, although not too much or you'll dry your face out. Also, don't touch your face. However, It may be that you are genetically prone to getting bad acne so you won't be able to get rid of it without special treatment.

Keep your face clean by washing it with a gentle moisturizer. Once a month put a facial mask on to get rid of deep oils and dirt that gets trapped in the pores..

i didn't have any acne problems up till December last year and it just got worse and worse, i tried everything, and found out that the harder i tried, the worse it got, so i stopped using everything, just wash my face morning and night (using normal shower/bath gel, and moisturize to reduce dryness), i also stopped touching and picking'em cos it became infected and cystic after a while. My doctor also put me on Yasmin(birth control pill) very good, its helped and I'm on the second month and have noticed its almost gone, just a few spots before my period but nothing else.

Today's diet of McDonalds and the other junk we eat could be causing lots of problems. Ask a real old person if acne was a problem back in the day and they will probably tell you it was not. :You are what you eat. a big grease filled burger or something. Gross

Try not to touch your face during the day. The number of bacteria on the hands and fingers is tremendous. You can bring additional infection on the inflamed skin area providing excellent conditions for bacteria multiplying.
