i was discharged from the military through a psychiatric ward i didn't make it out of basic traning but i was in the ward for about 3 months i din't get any kind of paper work when i was discharge, was i supposed to get somekind of paper work or form or something, if so how do i go about getting it?

Contact the VA, they should be able to either help you or direct you from there.

You should have gotten a DD214. Every state has a veteran's assistance office. Look under state offices, phone book. They will assist you. As for the VA , if you can get thru the phone round robin they may help, in 3 months. Lastly, contact your local American Legion and ask how to get in touch with an Assistance Officer.

Contact you service or the personnel department that processed you. You are probably toast in the cvilian world based on the information you provided. You DD214 is going to reflect psychiatric and you'll have to include that in your job applications. Not a good move.

I would also try to go through your local recruiting officce as the VA may not have a record of you since you technically are not a veteran.
