Normally intended to draw people into a store at an earlier time than the normal dining or shopping peak time. There is usually a special discounted price or a special modified "early bird" menu which may include differend food iitems like a desert or something.

It means that those who show up first, will get a discount. Sometimes like at Nordstrums in Seattle, the women will line up around 4 am,,,,and the store doesn't open until 9 am
