i have followed weight watchers for around five years, and always found it successful, but after my second child, i need some inspiration to stay on track with it, as i find it all too easy to cheat. I know it works cos ive done it before, and maintained my weight loss, until now! All you weight watchers out there-can i have some of your will power? Any advice/recipes etc?
polite answers only please.

Like all good questions, the answer is in your question! Do your best not to cheat! My suggestions are:
1) Believe that you can reach and maintain your healthy weight - you've done it before and you can do it again!
2) When you are tempted to cheat, stop and ask yourself whether you really want to be heavier than your healthy weight - do you really want a quick food fix rather than the long term goal of the healthy and happy you that you know is waiting to get out...? Get tempting junk foods out of the house.
3) Check if anything else is the matter - is 'cheating on your chosen path' a way of saying to yourself that you don't really like your body? It's the only one you've got. so when you are tempted to cheat, say to yourself (and mean it) 'I'm worth more than that!'
4) Make yourself accountable. Write down your goal and how you intend to reach it. Tell a trusted friend or your friends at weight watchers - but always be honest with yourself.
5) Don't be frightened to feel a little hungry from time to time - if you're active, you will be burning up calories and your body will be telling you about this - get in tune with it.
If it's any help, I'm writing this as one who knows - within a two week period I was bereaved and lost my job. I put on half a stone (comfort eating) over an 8 week period before I came to my senses and realised that there had to be a better way. I've now found a reliable way to lose a pound a week to reach and maintain my healthy weight through eating slightly lower quantities of healthier foods and exercising a little more - the only sure way to reach my healthy weight. I'm writing a book about my experiences right now because I truly believe the way to succeed in this is to turn round the desire to eat more into 'slim willpower' - the desire to reach and maintain a healthy weight by eating sensible quantities of healthy foods and exercising a little more. Remember - before seriously changing your lifestyle options, consult a medical practitioner. All the very best as you go on your journey - you really can do it!
One recipe suggestion: For lunchtime salad: 100g (half a pack) of Turkey Tikka (<10%fat), one large tomato sliced, slices of cucumber, lettuce and extra light mayo to taste. Two clementines to finish. Delicious!

Hi there, I have been a weight watcher for 35years am about
7lbs above my target weight. I don,t think thats bad for 62years old.
When you have to think about, shop for, cook and eat food, it tends to take over your life. You now have 2 children so you are
busier, more tired and have less time to spend thinking about
your own food needs. Don't beat yourself up about this do your best to get back on the programme. Remember you are not superwoman. Don't follow this programme for vanity do it for your health, I find this helps me not to cheat as I think what every Mars bar is doing to my insides.

I have always found it really difficult to diet (I never met a calorie I didn't like!). However, jokes aside it has the be the goal at the end that gets you started and staying on track. Eat extra fibre (or drink it) for that full feeling and don't skip meals - that's naughty. Do it for your children, for your husband but most of all - do it for yourself - because ultimately its your decision. Keep it up and be healthy and trim!!

Try Cambridge Diet for a few weeks and lose a stone, then go onto WW!! Try it, you might like it - no grey areas - no points to count and full nutrition.
