Wel, when you laughed you gave him positve attention, all kids pick up swear words, my 5 year old daughter says the b*tch word, I try to explain that it is an adult word and she shouldn't say it, so when she does I threaten to stop TV or take away her toys, I don't believe in smacking either, also I tell her if she is going to say those words she can leave the room until she learns they are not acceptable, it's hard and once they have heard them its hard to stop them.

I would have words with his school, As he is clearly picking this language up from there. If another child is saying these things I would ask that that child is excluded from school or social services make a visit to his house as he is obviously being sworn at and possibly abused!!!!

I would also the next time he said bit*th or Fu*ck put him across my knee and give him a couple of smacks on the bum.

It worked for me. I learnt a rude word at school ( Wan*ker ) and one day said it to my dad. I was put over his knee so quickly and by bum was given 5 good hard smacks. It shocked me so much I completely forgot about the swear word ( apart from that it started whit Y ).

You have to deal with this before it takes hold and they swear all the time, and become a foul mouthed yob!!

I would be more concerned with where he is hearing this language right now, more then the swear words themselves. Is he hearing it at school? If so, who is swearing at school? I would seriously look into that as it is so far from professional and I would not want my child attending a school where people were cussing.

Then I would explain to him that those words were not acceptable and that if he continued to say them, then he would either go in time out, lose a privilage, or whatever you use as a form of discipline. Be firm and consistant.

think you need the toy box thing, everytime he swears take a toy away. give him a warning or a few, if he still carries on, pick one of his toys and put it in a box, let him see you do it.

Say - im taking this toy away from you now coz you keep swearing when i have said not to, its very naughty!
you can have it back when you stop swearing and are a good boy!

LOL along the lines of that anyway! :o)

You don't know ehere he's getting it from??? That's your first order of business, finding out! Secondly, the laughter sealed your fate as far as punishment for doing something that isn't acceptable behavior...talk with his kindergarten or daycare teacher and make sure that this is stopped immediately, or you're in for big trouble. He's acting out a form of attention getting behavior and he needs to know NOW that it's unacceptable.

tell him santa clause is watching and he'll not get anything for christmas, it is funny to hear them at first I couldn't stop laughing at my lil bro when he said the same thing and it is terrible, but yeah tell him that it is a really naughty word and if he carries on saying things like that he can't watch his favourite programs etc, good luck

Stop reacting to his swearing and he will stop. Suggest to him some funny sounding innocent words that rhyme or tell him that grown up boys don't talk like that.

If you are using anyone of the terms or swearing words he uses then refrain from using them because he learns from your actions, otherwise award all good deeds and take away best possessions if behavior continues!!!gudluck!!!

when he gets angry and starts to swear tell him it makes you sad when you hear it. try to use another word instead, so if he says stupid *****, you say silly billy, or something like that.
it sounds daft but if you do it often enough, he will start using your words. just remember to keep a sad look on your face!
