I think I know maybe 2 "happily" married couples... and though single is not the best way to be... it beats my married friends hands down!!!

(*lol*) I have the exact opposite (general) opinion from Airtight..I think marriage is a better deal for men, then for women.

Since the days of women being financially support are LONG gone, in too many cases getting married can be like taking on an adult child rather than a partnership of adults.

The reality is...it depends on the two people involved. If you marry the wrong person, it's a nightmare. If you marry the right person, it isn't. Some people do better single...some don't.

With the right partner, you can always rely on knowing someone has your back...they truly care about your well-being..and there's a lot of comfort in knowing there is someone who loves you, warts and all.

On the other hand, being single, you can do things however you want without having to consider anyone else. You may or may not have someone who loves you, cares about you or would have your back. However, if you want to paint the bathroom purple with orange stripes, that's your option.

It depends on what you want. I've done the wrong partner, and I've done single. There's a part of me that would like to try it with the right partner...and another part that really LIKES being single.

In the end, you get to make a choice...and no one elses' "pros and cons" means a darn thing.

If the marriage is good, than being married is wonderful. I hope someday to find what I though I had when I got married-someone who is always there for me, who loves me no matter what, someone to help you get through this thing we call life. Marriage, if done right, can be great. Done wrong, it is complete hell on earth. Single? You don't have to ask anyone anything, or discuss everything to death, or check in when you go out. You get to sleep in the middle of the bed and eat cereal for dinner if you choose. Honestly, both are good. Just depends on who you are with and where you are in your life at the time.

When you are married you think of the times you were single and having fun and when you are single you look at married couple's and think god I wish I was married too. ;-)

single - buying food for one, cooking for one, holidays for one (more expensive) lonely, no real sex.
On the + side you can spend your money on what you want ,go out/ stop in when you want, eat what you want, wear what you want, have sex with who ever you want.

married - they snore, fart, whine, moan, cause you extra housework, extra food bills, they want care and attention, always have to consider what they would like to do /feel. No sex with other people.
+side - always have someone to care about/love you, a best friend on tap, good sex when ever you want it, i am sure this side of the list goes on and on?
