A decade ago to learn English, you had to attend costly English classes or purchase course material like tapes and books. Now you can learn English for free from the comfort of your home using the Internet. The BBC and the British Council offer a number of on line courses, which teach written and spoken English. You can also improve your English by watching television programs and reading English newspapers. For more information, visit http://tinyurl.com/qnzpt

I'm sorry, but I don't know any courses. What does help is finding somebody to talk to regularly in English. I've met two Chinese college students while playing WoWChina and we've exchanged cell numbers so whenever they want to talk or need help with English, I can give that help.

There's no better practice than just finding a native speaker to speak to. Eventually, you'll pick it up.

Practise makes perfect. Speak the language anywhere and everywhere. Don't be conscious about the errors you commit. It is just your second language so you are entitled to commit mistakes. Speak it when you are alone, speak it when you are with a friend and try using the Internet for the correct audio (Webster on line). Good luck.

try conversing with others in the language, preferably someone who is vocal & fluent. I think its more a case of confidence than actual fluency where you are concerned. a lot of people dont have english as first language & balk when the conversation starts. keep trying you will get there, practice makes perfect afterall.

Read a lot, watch English TV channels, and if possible, try to communicate a lot with people who have English as their mother language!
Good luck!

i find the only way to speak english with more confidence is to just keep on talking... just talk to your other english speaking friends... you don't need to go to any courses unless you really want to (but they can be quite costly)... you may be embarassed at the moment when talking but never mind that now as later on you will be speaking confident english...

If you cannot afford to visit England for a bit, then get yourself lots of English speaking films. They should help a little.
