Shariah Law is the law followed by Islamic Countries. It is a broad and all encompassing law that takes the place of Penal and Civil Codes in non-Muslim countries. Very few are aware that most Islamic countries have no formal constitutions, and that the basic law of their countries is based on the Holy Quran, thus the Shariah Law that is also based on Islamic tenets and principles. Needless to say, the Imams or priests have the authority to enforce this law, and while it appears harsh and even behind the times, it is strictly followed by all Muslims particularly in Saudi Arabia where Islam is most rigidly observed and practiced.

Sharia law is being opposed all over, but the truth behind it is not truly understood. I would like people to do better research in this area before jumping to conclusions based on false propoganda.

There are people all over the world who believe in Sharia and feel that it is ordered by God to manking for their wellbeing. Sharia teaches good morals and conduct.

There are many people in the world who feel sharia is barbaric or inhumane, but if we look at the big picture then we realize that sometimes punishment is necessary to prohibit or curtail crime in society. Sometimes true justice can only be served through punishing the aggressor.

its the ancient and barbaric laws that Mohammed thought the world needed. it lets the imams and mullahs decide who is telling the truth, and set the punishment. women who bring a complaint against a man have to have 2 witnesses for every one the man has, since women are thought to only be half as truthful. When a Muslim declares that Islam is a religion of peace, he/she is either ignorant of the Koran (Qur'an), or is deceitfully thinking of this "peace", as it extends only to those within the Muslim Community. Those who follow him are merciful to one another, but ruthless to unbelievers" Sura 48:29. But, hey, lets not put everything on one obvious verse. Let's look at at least a few obvious verses like verse 5:51 - "Believers, take neither the Jews nor the Christians for your friends. They are friends with one another." Oops, strike two. How many more verses will it take for you to realize the US Muslims are lying to you and the Middle Eastern Muslims, including Osama Bin Ladden, are telling you the truth. I despise Osama for what he does but have to respect him for being honest, unlike the liars who have mislead many in this nation.

Verse 5:59 - "Say: 'People of the Book, is it not that you hate us only because we believe in Allah and in what has been revealed to us and what was formerly revealed, and because most of you are evil-doers?' Say: 'Shall I tell you who will receive a worse reward from Allah? Those whom Allah has cursed and with whom He has been angry, transforming them into apes and swine, and those who serve the devil." And those are the only ones who will receive a worse reward than the Jews and Christians. Doesn't sound to me like we all have the same religion and worship the same God. Why would my God, whom I worship do that to me for worshiping Him?

I'll give you doubting Christians who would rather believe a lying Muslim than another Christian two more examples and then we must move on. Try verse 5:72 - "Unbelievers are those that say:'God is the Messiah, the son of Mary." and then verse 5:73 - "Unbelievers are those that say: 'God is one of three.'"
