i did put it in the paper.. the only reason i put it on myspace is so if someone in montana might look at it.. but he is the only one that called about him.. i'm too scared to do it anyway.. p.s. i was kidding about the eating him part..

He really does sound like an online predator. Ignore him and hope he fades away..I hope you didn't give him information, such as an address!

If he really does live in Texas, it is a really big state and there are plenty of cocker Spaniels where he lives..It is a scam, one way or another..

This guy sounds like a serious creep. Lose his number. Oreo would be safer in the pound! But from what I'm reading in your question, you should definitely find Oreo a new home. You don't seem to be that invested in your dog, and they deserve as much love and care as we can give them. I'm not saying you're a bad person, just that maybe right at this time a dog is just not right for your life. There are many good animal rescue organizations which would help you find your dog a good home. Since you mentioned selling Oreo, if he or she is a purebreed, there are special groups dealing with different breeds that might help. Start with cockerspanielresueofmontana.org., and go from there.

If you want Oreo to go to a new home tell hiim that he has a new home already and put an ad in your local newspaper or call the humane society or animal welfare in your area. By no means contact this person....don't you listen to the news?? There are people out there that do horrible things to people they contact and end up meeting what makes you think that this person will be any diffferent to your dog??

DO NOT sell him to anyone out of your area.
Go with your gut. If it's telling you no, don't do it!
Cut off all communication with this guy. He could use your dog for breeding and put it through hell. Or he could use it for experiments. You need to do a home check and vet check. It's a lot of work but if you really care about your dog, you'd do it.
You can call a rescue organization and tell them your situation. They can give you advice on what to look for in potential adopters.
This guy could be out to harm your pet. You don't want that.
Tomorrow morning start making some phone calls to some people that care (rescue organizations) and they can help you.
DON'T "SELL" YOUR DOG TO THAT MAN.

And what's the reason you're getting rid of him?

I would tell a little white lie and tell him that you already sold "oreo" to another person. I think that if you tell him that it will make him stop bothering you, well if he is. I think instead of putting your add on myspace I think you should put your add in a local newspaper so someone in your town or at least you state can buy your dog.

If you really want your dog to go to a good home, make it a local home that you can do a house check at... Contact a rescue organization in your area to help with placement. Here's a link for you with contact information:

myspace is really not the place to put an ad for selling your dog. delete it and think about it seriously and do it properly. if you want your dog to go to a good home then maybe you should try the local papers etc so you can see where your dog is going to.

Retract the advert and rather advertise in a paper you trust and know, you can even organise screening programmes to see who"oreo" is going to and if he/she will be happy there.

you can take your ad off of myspace, tell the man that you decided to keep him, and then sell the dog to someone you know and trust.

tell the man your dog must go to an owner who lives in the area, as you do not believe in shipping the dog by air and you will not drive the distance to take the dog to him.
