Take this child to a Pediatrician and request help with weight mangement. He's getting the high-calorie fast food with someone's help, is he not?? He's allowed to avoid exercise by someone, is he not?? Is this child rewarded with food? Is food used to quiet or comfort him? Perhaps, to keep him occupied? The parents are part of the problem and need education every bit as much as the child does. There can be no trips to McDonald's, Burger King, Taco Bell or any of those places. If there is no soda, cookies, candy or other unneccessary foods in the home, the child cannot eat them, can he?? If left untreated, this child is headed for bigger health problems than just obesity.

Soft drinks can make anyone fat very quickly so replace with water. A good breakfast is more important than you may think, A large breakfast cereal, toast, juice, fruit will start metabolism early in the day and hopefully keep them full for longer so they dont eat the rubbish they sell at school these days. We all know fried foods are full of fat and cholestrol so stay away. Find something the child likes that is a healthier eating option

Hello, My son is also over weight. He's 12 and and going into 36 jeans. Fast food only once a week if possible none. Trust me I no how hard it is tell him NO to junk food! I do know that's hard when your so busy. The main thing the child needs is exercise. Any kind of movement will help even just small walks. We have tried together. I found NO SODA and you will begin to lose weight. GOOD LUCK From another concerned mother.

He needs to find new parents who don't let him eat that kind of crap. Allowing your child to eat that much food and those types of food is child abuse. Plain and simple. YOU have control over what goes into your child's mouth. YOU are the one who buys the food for your family. Take control and stop the gluttony. You are setting your child up for a lifetime of discrimination, health problems, and low self esteem. He will also miss out on so many experiences (nature hikes, certain types of travel, etc) because of his obesity. Now is the time to take responsibility and change your son's life for the better.

it is very hard to control eating for a child but it is necessary to plan his meal usually a food pyramid guide would help plan a meal since it tells you what foods should be eaten more and be eaten less...if confused, consult a dietician.
Exercise is also very important so that the food does not store in his body and would be burned off...simple walking activities would help and make sure that he helps in the household chores...avoid fastfood and junkfood...
