its so sad to see so many Muslims getting Islam confused with culture and culture confused with Islam.
like for example honor killings.that is a cultural practice.but many Muslims confuse it with something islamic.and the hijab some say its culture but its islamic.or i heard one whacked out thing where in pakistain the mother of he groom will wait outside his door for her son to bring a tissue of blood to prove the girl he married was a virgin.and they clam this is islamic?this is something is cultural and preverted.

may allah save of all!

I've felt that for over 10 years when I realized my Pakistani family was teaching things from culture as Islam. Alhumdulillah, now I have a much clearer picture of Islam.

There is no need to seperate culture from religion. BUT culture should be derived from religion and bad cultural practices which contradicts with religion should be abandended and banned.
Hijab is not culture out of Islam. If hijab is observed as Islam teaches according to Qura'n and Ahadis, it is absolutely ok. Honor Killing or Tissue issue are out of Islamic culture. Nothing to do with Islam. Thgose who are mixing with Islam it is their problem, it is not the problem with Islam.

If some guy plays with my sister, makes her pregnant and then let's her down...sorry, he has a problem.

I agree it has nothing to do with Islam, it has to do with pride.

Never heard the weird thing you describe from Pakistan, but it sounds pretty oldfashioned to me. I'm sure it doesn't happen in Karachi.

Allahumma inni astakheeroka bi ilmik. Wa'astaq-diroka biqodratik. Wa'as'aloka min fadlikal-azeem. Fa'innaka taqdiru wala aqdir. Wata lamo wala-a lam. Wa'anta-allamul ghuyoob.

the thing is, most of this problem occurs more among the uneducated and poor social lifestyle, and they dont hav the privilege of learning more from the widely available Islamic media/site or the scholar themselves.
It is up to the government in charge to tackle those problem.
