Plus, the damage it does to their reproductive system is irreversible.

Termination should not be regarded as a method of birth control however you must realize that there is no 100% effective birth control system available other than sterilization. Accidents do happen, even to the most careful of people and it is quite acceptable to use abortion to to put such mistakes right. Education must address the problems of giving young people proper information on contraception and reducing the miserable ignorance of most teenagers regarding sexual matters. Parents who think that by not talking about sexual matters or just telling their children "don't do it" will make the problem go away are just living in a fools paradise that is going to collapse around their ears. It may interest you to know that statistical evidence clearly shows that there are fewer maternal deaths per thousand operations form abortions than there are from each thousand women who go to full term with their pregnancy and give birth. Also more damage to the reproductive system is recorded in birth than in terminations.

Sometimes accidents happen. Sometimes birth control fails. Sometimes wanted pregnancies become unwanted.

I don't know exactly what you are talking about when reffering to damage abortion does to reproductive systems. I do hope that you realise that it is only in very rare cases that abortion does damage to ones reproductive system. Also, that sometimes the risk is well worth it given the situation. Sure, there are a few women who get upset and rant about the damage done to their bodies but, many many women are silenced by the social stigma of having an abortions. Many of these women are healthy, happy and even some of them are mothers. It's sort of ridiculous to hate abortion while being completely ignorant to the fact that it's at least 10 times safer than full term pregnancy and often the best choice.

There are many reasons girls turn to abortion...(and just maybe, they were using birth control that failed... it happens)

1. There are many organizations that offer to help woman find an alternative to abortion. However, after they convince her to keep her baby for psychological reasons... they are nowhere to be found after the baby is here and has real needs.
2. Many girls do not have the financial or psychological support needed to maintain a healthy pregnancy. Not every one has a "partner" or family that will be supportive of an unwanted pregnancy. Even when the child would be placed for adoption.
3. Even though "unwed pregnancy" doesn't have the same stigma that it has in the past. Many "do gooders" humiliate others for making choices. In other words, don't have an abortion, but don't expect me to spend my time with you.
Or they point fingers at young girls who kept their baby but are unable to reach their full potential because they cannot afford child care and are forced to quit school.
4. My friend had an abortion in college. (about 15 years ago) since then she has given birth to three children. All of them full term and very healthy.
The supreme court made it a personal choice for women. If a woman chooses to use this, then it is her peragative. If you don't like it... hate the law, not the people who chose it.

Sometimes birthcontrol is used but not effective.....I think we spend too much time judging others and not enough time educating so that these choices don't have to be made.

I HEAR ALL THE GIRLS SAY I DON'T WANT TO GET FAT YOU ARE ON BIRTH CONTROL THAT IS NOT ALWAYS TRUE. YOUR GOING TO GAIN THE WEIGHT IF YOU DON'T GET PREGNANT OR NOT !!!! THESE GIRLS NEED MORE EDUCATED ON THIS SUBJECT THE RISKS AND DAMAGE IT DOES TO THEIR REPRODUCTIVE SYSTEMS AND TO THE UNBORN FETUS. MY OPINION THESE GALS ARE LAZY IT ONLY TAKES TWO MINUTES OUT OF THEIR BUSY SHEDULES AND TAKE THE PILL.

not everyone thinks of the consequences a night of passion will give them...that's why sex education needs to be in highschool...some parents can't deal with the subject, and someone has to educate the kids, that sex, sometimes = babies... starting in the 9th grade!
