The "best" is relative. Here's a strategy, climb into her shoes (not litereally) and think about something original you think would be nice and something that she'll want to hear.

Just be nice and polite to them. They love that. Let them tell you stuff about themselves, don't talk too much about yourself. You have to show genuine interest in them, and ask them about anything you might know is a hobby, or stuff that they are interested in. Gradually, if they ask about you, tell them. Then when you think they might like you, you can ask them out. If there is not chemistry, then just let it go, However, the worse thing they can say is no, and you just go on your way and try to find another.

Be nice..Typical conversation goes like this: Hi, I'm "Joe" how are you today? I really like your sweater ... where did you buy it? Oh yeah, I really like that store..I bought my _____ there. Have you ever bought stuff at ~~~~ ? I've wanted to talk to you but have been too shy, I hope you don't mind me talking to you? We are in ^^^^^ class .. I notice you sit in the back, I get distracted if I don't sit near the front. What sort of movies do you like? Would you consider going to a movie with me? ...etc."
..just be yourself and be nice... girls want to talk to you just as much as you want to talk to them .. when you are young EVERYBODY is shy .. somebody just has to start up the conversation...
