People lost respect for Christ too...
3He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows, and familiar with suffering. Like one from whom men hide their faces he was despised, and we esteemed him not. (Isa 53)
Remember, a prophet is never respected in his own time...

Christians are not required to forgive those who practice serious malicious, willful sin with no repentance. Such become God’s enemies. No Christian who has been a victim of extremely unjust, detestable, or heinous treatment should feel forced to forgive, or pardon, a wrongdoer who is not repentant.—Psalm 139:21, 22
However forgiving others for personal offenses, regardless of the number of times involved, is a Christian requirement. (Lu 17:3, 4; Eph 4:32; Col 3:13) God’s forgiveness is not extended toward those who refuse to forgive others. (Mt 6:14, 15)

I could care less if a person would lose respect for me because I continue to forgive them. I know I would be gaining respect from God and also making myself feel better for forgiving instead of saying something negative to the person.

I try to forgive sometimes more for myself than them. I don't usually tell people I have forgiven them,I keep that in my own heart. As long as I respect my self I really am not that concerned with what other people think.

No because forgiveness is given without repenting. It isn't like someone does you wrong and bam you forgive them. There has to be a change of heart for forgiveness to be givien iaw the scriptures.

Turn the other cheek by all means…
But when they start slapping too hard, perhaps it is time to duck !!!
Being able to ‘forgive’ is a virtue…
To keep doing it over and over again, is ‘stupidity’.
If someone insults you… Forgive them !
If they insult you again… Forgive them again!
But if they keep on insulting you… Perhaps they are not worthy of your forgiveness !!!
Let’s not allow ourselves to be seen as ‘being a sucker’…
If people keep trying to pull the wool over your eyes… Perhaps they need to be shorn !
If someone steals from you… Should they be ‘forgiven’?…. Perhaps !
If they steal from you again… Should they be ‘forgiven’ again?… Perhaps !
If they eventually rob you blind… What has your forgiveness done for you ???

Where in the bible does it say that?
Forgiving people is not for their benefit, its for yours. The bible says nothing about forgetting.
Screw me once, shame on you.... Screw me twice, shame on me..

I WAS HATED BY MY PEOPLE WITHOUT A CAUSE.
MY FAMILY REJECTED ME WHEN I BECAME A CHRISTIAN.
I JUST LOVED THEM ANYWAY.EVEN WHEN THEY WERE SO MEAN AND MADE ME CRY.
TODAY THOSE SAME PEOPLE ARE SAVED.
ITS VERY HARD TO KEEP LOVING PEOPLE WHO SPIT ON YOU AND HIT YOU.BUT GIVE THEM TO JESUS.HE WILL BRING THEM IN.
