As both a francophone and a translator, I can tell you that the correct wording in French is "la maison de mes rêves" (literally, "the house of my dreams").

Technically speaking, "ma maison de rêve" is not incorrect, but this turn of phrase is more often used to indicate something one may wish for without hope of ever obtaining it.

"De rêve" can also mean "unreal," "ghostly," or "dreamlike."

When I lived in the south of France many years ago, most countryside people called a house "mas" but in standard French, perhaps the concept would be:

La maison de mon rêve
or La maison de mes rêves

Don't do literal translation from english to french, it does not work this way...

My= mon (m) or ma (f)

dream= rêve

house= maison

So, it is "Ma maison de rêve"

When I'm asked what are you, I consider myself international, for having worked and lived in so many countries, and my daughter beats me, her mother tongue is trilingual. Her mother spoke Dutch to her, I spoke with her English and she went to a French school. She is finished doing Spanish, and on top her mother did Slavic languages, and Dutch teacher. I'm emphasizing my proper spoken languages, American and UK, Afrikaans, and schooled in Flemish, and French. To see the comments, that people just about say anything. the translation of "Sweet dreams" is "Beau reves"
