You are going to love this, as it is a cure to never get them again and it only cost around $5. I use to get them every time my period rolled around, of course this is embarrassing, and frustrating because nothing works fast enough. I did a little research and found that your body is missing L-Lysine as to the reason you get these boogers. So, I go buy myself a bottle of L-Lysine and I haven't had one since. That has been 5 yrs. ago. Try it and pass it on.

Abreva is the best over-the-counter medication for cold sores. There are also ones you can go to your doctor and get, but most usually won't prescribe it for your run of the mill cold sores unless its a violent outbreak (usually the first one). unless you have been doing things that would cause syphilis of the lip or have a long standing chewing or smoking tobacco problem, this is most likely herpes simplex one (cold sore virus not the STD). If you are confused about the products that may be available to you, your doctor or your local pharmacist are a wealth of information. Even if you don't use ANYTHING, this will go away. Viruses have a limit of 7-14 days. If it last past this, GO TO THE DOCTOR. You may also want to ask your doctor about pain control or perhaps using a chloraseptic spray if the pain is that discomforting. abreva won't do anything for pain, it just makes it harder for the virus to replicate. Also, watch what you touch and who you touch. You could transmit this to someone else or possibly re-infect yourself!

Any questions, I’m always on yahoo.

First off you need to know what a cold sore (a.k.a. fever blister) is. Cold sores are usually caused by herpes virus, which can lay dormant in the body and becomes active later when something triggers it. HSV-1 most commonly infects the lips, causing sores known as fever blisters or cold sores, but it also can infect the genital area and produce sores there.

There are different products on the web and over the counter, and differentiate in price. If monetary funds are an issue, go to your local drug store and someone there could help you.

Spirit of camphor is the best. It is cheep and can be found just about anywhere. Then, you may want to enhance your immune system with various supplements so you will not have to endure this problem in the future. There are so many, you can't go wrong with your choice.

Go to the Dentist, show it to him, he'll prescribe a medication for you. Nobody knows about this for some reason, but it's great. You'll get a tube of ointment that will last years.
