the recommendations are to not go below eating 1200 calories a day. So if you absolutely sat and did nothing all day...not even eating, cuz that makes you burn more calories, then i'd go with that number. But it really is dependent on your lean muscle mass, cuz more muscle causes you to burn more calories, and also your oxygen consumption, so it really does vary....

From what I understand, if you way 150 lbs, you need 1500 calories a day to be healthy. Take your body weight and multiply by 10, that should be the number your looking for. If you eat more then that amount you will typically gain weight, less and you will lose, but only for a short time since your body adjusts to the lower calorie intake.

a normal sedentary person spends around 2000 calories.
a slightly more muscular than average, sedentary person burns up 2500 to 3000 calories just sitting around.

The calories you eat - the calories your body doesn't process - the amount of weight you gain = the amount you've burned

Pretty much it depends on how much you eat. Pay attention to your body to figure out how much you need.

Everyone has a different resting metabolic rate (the rate at which your body burns calories). Your RMR is dependent on many things:

-Genetics
-Lifestyle
-Body compostition (fat %)

There is no definitive anser to your question becuase everyone burns calories at a different rate...and everyone maintains different lifestyles in addition to RMR

THIS is the formula for calculating your Resting Metabolic Rate or how many calories you burn a day. For a women =

RMR= 655 + ( 9.6 x bodyweight in kg) +(1.8 x height in cm) -(4.7x age)

for men =
RMR= 66+(13.7 x body weight in kg) + ( 5 x heightin cm) - ( 6.8 x age)

to determine weight in kg divide weight in pounds by 2.2
to determine height in cm multiply height in inchs by 2.54

Hope that answers your question.

It depends on your weight and life style. A person with a weight of 64 kilograms needs about 1300 kcal just to survive - breath, blood circulation, etc. You need more if you move, have a physical job, etc.

it all depends on our physical activities but i would say about 2000-4500 average. even though we burn so much, our input of calories exceeds the output. thats why we are not losing a pound a day.

They say your body weight times 10 is what your body uses daily without exercise. Average is probably accepted to be 2000, since thats what all foods use to derrive their % daily values.
