Since "saved" is a Christian term, I assume you are talking about "Jesus".
This website gives a good basis of what you need to understand and what you need to do.
http://www.godlovestheworld.com/
Note it is not just praying magic words to get saved. The trite term "accepting Jesus as Savior and Lord" means just that. He is Lord of your life. You try to live by what He taught even though it might be difficult. The wisdom He taught and the examples he set forth with his life. is not just a bunch of regulations or a contract for you to uphold; it is offered to help you live a life with less mistakes and heartaches. You will fail often, but God doesn't fire you unless you quit. Get back up on the horse. You will NEVER become as good as Godt, but God doesn't expect you to. (Also: Technically, you do not need to baptized to be saved.)
Extra stuff:
The reason why Christians gathered together was to share wisdom and knowledge and share experiences. While it is possible to get a ton of answers on the web (say on the Campus Crusade for Christ website or study the best seller The Purpose Driven Life and of course get yourself a bible- I recommend NIV or NAS translation for readability. But beware there are a lot of theologically unsound things on the web, too.), sometimes you need "live support". Home Bible Studies or cell groups: Many churches have small groups that meet in homes. You can participate in that possibly.
Though it is not your reason, many people avoid church is because they think they will be shamed into giving money. You don't have to put anything in the offering plate if you don't want to. God and most churches don't want your money if you give it grudgingly. (If people at a church you visit does that to you, ignore it. If snobbery persists, find another church.) I do regularly give money to my church, because I understand it is a team effort. The pastor and other staff salaries, the heating and water bill, the won't pay themselves. And it reminds me that it is God blessings that gave me the money in the first place. And I should invest it in things he would approve of.
If you get better and do ever look for a church...
try to find one like this:::: I go to a great church where the leaders are conservative and don't water down the truth, but they aren't right wing and hateful either. The pastor's messages totally relate to the people. He encourages us not just to help out at the church but to go do things that make a difference in the world...like go help Katrina vics. We pray for eachother. The dress is casual, but they want our attitudes reverent to God. Overall I think the congregation can more for God in all respects, but I think my church is pretty cool. I will try to keep you in my prayers this week.

There have been many people who have been saved who were not Church goers at the point of their salvation! That doesn't stop you from being saved. Just to help you along, The Bible tells us that we are all sinners and in need of God's forgiveness. Without the shedding of blood there can be no forgiveness of sin so God sent his Son Jesus to die on the cross and shed his blood for your sin which means that the price of your sin has been paid for. Simply accept Jesus as your savior right now and you have passed from death into life. i.e. you now have eternal life and can never loose it! Ephesians CH.4 V30. states " .........you are sealed with the Holy spirit until the day of redemption" I would suggest you go along to a New Testament Church (an example of this would be a Baptist Church) and have a talk with the Pastor as he will be able to further assist you with this. I somehow feel that the Holy Spirit may have worked on your heart as thats one of his aspects which is to leed people to Christ. Please let me know how you went and God bless!

It is very simple! As it is written, "if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved." (Romans 10:9-10)
Then follow Jesus...make Him the Lord of your life and you will never be the same again! This doesn't mean life will get easy...it only means that you are on your way to destiny more glorious than you can ever imagine....
Praying for you...

Spunky,
I got saved when I wasn't at church.
You tell God that you believe in the Resurrection of His Son, Jesus. And you will be saved.
Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. So listen to a good preacher. You can do that here:

and check this site out.

E-mail me. There are a few things to go over.
Peace in Christ.

Mary the mother of Christ is your answer. Learn to pray to Her. She is your perfect Mother in heaven and She will take all of your petitions and sufferings to Our Lord Jesus Christ. Christ accepts everything given from the hand of His mother. Put your trust in Mary. Adore Christ....venerate Mary. The Catholic church teaches that if you are too ill to go to mass you are exempt. So don't worry and pray at home do some pius reading. If you love Mary, the saints philosophers, theologens, and myself promise you that you will be saved.

Go read the book of john and belive and do what it says, to be saved is to recieve Gods word and what he said about his son Jesus, so you need to know that he sent Jesus to die for you and raised him fropm the dead and that if you believe this and ask him he will forgive you of everything you ever did and send his HOLY SPIRIT INTO YOU AND THATS WHEN YOU BECOME SAVED! Once his spirit come to live in you you have exepted him and he saves you. Now he has requirnment that you need to know so you can live like he wants! He wants you to know him, and we get to know him by studing his word he reveals himself in the word. Now, go read John and get to know Jesus, what he said and done, its a secret message from outside of time or our earthly relm, it comes from God himself and it is a love letter to you, his child! Good luck. After you do all this you will want to go to church!

Saved from what? There is no such thing as "sin."
"The very concept of sin comes from the bible. Christianity offers to solve a problem of its own making! Would you be thankful to a person who cut you with a knife in order to sell you a bandage?(salvation)" - Dan Barker (former preacher)

You can not plan on staying home and get saved. Isn't God worth going to Church? If you decide that he isn't, you are not worthy of him and I'm afraid you will not go to Heaven. Don't listen to the people who say you don't have to go to Church because you do and You know it otherwise you wouldn't have asked. Remember Jesus said "On that day (judgment) many will come to me and say "Didn't I do this in your name and didn't I do that in your name", and I will say to them "Away from me you evil doers, for I do not know you". Look it up in your Bible. Do not hesitate but, get up and get out there.
