People only hate each other because of their insecurities (unless they're insane). You can't help it if you're insecure!

"One of the most well known examples of megalomania in modern history was Adolf Hitler. A street waif, Hitler wasn't content rising through the ranks to become the military leader of Germany. His megalomania drove him to aspire to conquer the entire world. Being born into a "superior race" also wasn't enough for the mentally ill Hitler. Instead he wanted to wipe out all other races. This need to destroy everything outside of what he perceived as an extension of himself is a classic though horrifically illustrated example of megalomania. Paradoxically, a person who exhibits such tremendous ego and self-confidence in reality has such low self-esteem and such a fragile ego that he cannot abide any expression other than his own, for fear of annihilation of the self. Therefore everything that is not under his control is perceived as a threat."

Hate doesn't make you evil. Hate is a natural human emotion just like anything else. It's your behavior that dictates who you are. We have all done evil things, but that does not make us evil. What we are is a sum of how we react to situations, how we were raised, how we educate ourselves on the world around us and the way we treat others.

Every one of us is going to encounter people throughout our life that we hate. Most of the time they have done things to provoke us and have therefore earned that negativity. What goes around comes around, after all. The trick is not letting that hate control you and make you lash out at those you care about.

My mother told me once that the people in this world who are truly evil are not those governed by hate but those who are governed by no emotion at all. They have no set of morals due to possessing no feelings to base morals on. It's something to think about.

According to the verse, yes you are to hate evil. But hating evil does not necessarily mean hating an individual. You can still love the individual, just not the evil that this individual participates in.

You can hate but dnt need to be evil or do evil things, leanr to calm urself, be in control, at the end of the day you choose to do evil stuff not matter how much hate u have in u, so i either can choose to be strong minded or weak minded, dnt let satan make u do bad stuff and make u evil, thats what he wants, think positive and think to urself u aint gonna let this devil make make u do evil, u will prevail above evil, and trust me u will feel great and proud afterwards that u learned to control urself, it will make u a better person for it and will always help u deal wiht situatons where u can prevent urself form hating in da first place, REMEMBER ur in control u choose how u think, think to urself, ur strong and better then hate , better then this, and marlk ma words, you will feel at PEACE!!.

Perhaps this illustrates that we ought not judge anyone...although it does not justify or redefine evil. Hating anyone is still evil. The solution is to find security through Christ and overcome such hate.

Hate doesn't make you evil. How many times didn't you hate a person for something.Hate is just the begining/if you hate someone for a long time you make it into an obsession .Obsessions make you evil because when you have an obsession you'll do anything to reach your goal.Hate is human and you can't judge it like being bad.

To answer your question...(which actually had nothing to do with your statements) is simply; the emotions are the lowest level of the conscious mind. Hate being among the strongest. Not standing alone. When we are guided by our emotions, we are literally not in control of our mind's function. It is controlling us!!

Your analogy was very well done however.

Hate taken to an extreme can make you evil. If you hate someone for something they did to you, that doesn't make you evil, just human. I struggle everyday trying to forgive those that have hurt me in the past. Some I still hate, but I am working on it.

Evil is the absence of good. Hate is an emotion that comes from fear. They are two different things.

only_shallow,
I hate myself, and that's not evil. You are attempting philosophy? That's good. But somehow I think that I am missing your point. Either that or I got it right on. God hates some things. That doesn't make Him evil either.

So I guess I might be missing your point. Sorry.
