save the tick in case your dog does get sick. just treat him like you would a human. after taking the tick off. apply peroxide. if he acts healthy, he will be fine,,he does not need a vet unless he gets sick..if he does, take that tick with you to the vet.

Hey =] 1) She might fall ill in the next few days, if at all. Keep an eye on her and take her to the vets if need be. 2) Ticks dont usually breed on dogs. But theres usually more than just one. 3) Yes, they could have moved onto any surface the dog has been on. 4)Lyme disease is rare, but it can happen. These are the symptoms.. Fever (some dogs do not develop a fever) Loss of Appetite Pain in the legs or body Arthritis or joint swelling Lethargic behavior Depression Cough If any arise, take her to the vets immediatly. Other than that, I hope your dog is ok! Im sure she will be =]

Don't stress it.
I grew up in the country. I couldn't tell you how many ticks I pulled off my own body or my friends heads growing up, and I pulled off hundreds more from my dogs and horses. Never had any problems. It's not a big thing, it's as common as any other bug bite.
If rings develop around the bite or undue swelling or redness occur, then it's time to call up the vet.

Just use some flea and tick control on your dog like Frontline. There is no vaccine you can get him to keep ticks off!!?? It is very unlikely that your dog would have contracted lyme disease from the tick, just use some form of control on him in the future so if more ticks get on him they will die.

Its no big deal, your dog will be fine. Just bathe him/her in some tick/flea killing shampoo and spray. Dont waste money on the Vet for a tick.

Unless your dog is bitten by a deer tick I wouldn't worry about it .With a deer tick your dog may develope a red rash or ring ,or swelling. Then I would call the vet .Deer ticks are very small. If they are carrying lyme diease they are red in color.

He is fine. You will pull many ticks from him. Get an anti-tick treatment like k9 advantix though, and there will be far fewer.

do they not have ticks where you live? it is rare when a dog is harmed by a tick , just put some peroxide on it and forget it. it will be fine.

as expensive as the vet is i would watch your dog very closely for any abnormal behavior (not eating, pooping weird, excessive salivating) and only take him if you notice anything out of the ordinary.
