I s there any posibility at all that the body will not go stiff? May have at least an aproximation of how long after been stiff the body becomes unstiffed and if it stay that way from then on. I have a problem with the veterinary hospital that called me to inform me that my dog died before surgery at 4:40 pm. incomplete records given to me shows I:22PM and oneof the attendants that loved my dog told me in confidence that she was already dead when he saw her that mornig It is important to me to know before making any complaints about it to the hospital or if I have resons forb it.
THANKS.

It usually takes 12 hours for complete rigor to set in, and another 12 for it to be out of rigor. If they put the body in the freezer, that would change the outcome.

If google doesn't help you (enough) perhaps try the local college/university that focuses on animal care---they could maybe give you more information and explain it better suited to your situation.

I'm very sorry to hear about your dog. Best of luck in getting this sorted out!

Google rigor mortise. You'll probably get more information on the subject than you care to know. Good luck.
