Sometimes when a child feels unwell the toilet training tends to take a backwards step. Just give it a rest for a few days then start again.

It's hard to tell why he has gone down slope since this is a very common thing to have happen at the beginning of potty training. Unless there has been some big change in the household that might have him a little rattled, I'd say just hang in there and see how things go over the next couple of weeks. Try to coax him but don't put too much pressure on him or you'll likely cause further delays.

This is pretty typical behavior. The excitement of going pee in the potty probably wore off. The same thing happened to my daughter.
Have there been any big changes in his life since he went on the down slope? Was he recently ill?
Try putting him in regular underwear, not pull ups. You may have to clean up a mess or two off the floor. They hate to have pee running down their legs. Or maybe try rewarding him with a piece of candy (I only recommend candy for potty training, no other time).
I let my daughter run around naked. This is what finally worked for us, and the candy, too.
Don't worry, though. I have yet to see a kid enter high school in diapers. He'll eventually get it.

Sounds like your son is somewhat regressing back which is normal becuse this is a big step for kids to go from diapers to underpants. Its a change in their life and just like adults, change is very difficult. I would keep on doing what you have been doing and when he is ready, he will use the potty. I have read so many comments about not putting kids back into diapers when they regress like this and i totally disagree. Diapers are a huge security blanket for kids, its what they have known for the first years of their lives and then mom and dad say okay, were taking away your diapers. Its no wonder they regress because they want to know that their security is there, just like when you leave them with someone like a realative or friend when you go out on a date night or a function, they want to be asured your coming back for them right? So i wouldnt worry about it too much, if he regresses back into diapers so be it, he will eventually get it.

He's just not totally ready yet. Give him a rest for a week or so, then try again. Potty training will happen when they're ready. You didn't say how old he is, but I'm sure it will happen soon, especially if he almost got it already. Just relax, try not to pressure him too much, and don't worry...none of us know any 23 yr olds who aren't potty trained. LOL
Good luck!

Don't make a big deal of it. I made the mistake of getting all worked up with my daughter did that and made things so much worse, she would just pee her pants right in front of me
Short story:
A bad situation happened kind of with us here, that we got through, I then realized a four yr old little girl wetting her pants wasn't a big of deal, and she stopped just like that

The massive down slope you are talking about is, quite simply, poop.

sounds like a relapse (which is common). takes time for the little one to figure it out. requires patience and encouragement.
