They aren't a complete thing of the past, I still believe in a monogamous relationship, so does my fiance, and i'm 23 she's 20, so it's not COMPLETELY ruled out now. And think about it, it's mostly HERE in america you find all this promiscuity. Europe probably still believes in monogamous relationships, some of the islands do too. ESPECIALLy trinidad n tobago, although most of the tourists make it seem different. So it still exists, very few now, but it's still there.....maybe if this generation's parents learn to CONTROL THEIR DAMN KIDS...and at least show them that screwin around at age 12 is just not right....well you never know we may be able to bring it back...otherwise the meaning of love will turn from sugar to ****.....and i don't even KNOW what life will be like when casual sex turns into just random swinger country.

I personally feel that monogamous relationships are not a thing of the past, but rather a question of finding the right person to share your life with.It is hard to find, but there are many people out there, who are desperately seeking a true partnership.I also guess that one gives out,one will receive.Meaning from the heart, not sexually.Being promiscuous, is popular, as I personally believe it is an easier way of being, so one doesn't get hurt. That's just one reason, the other is of course by choice. But as all things in life, when the timing is right, the things we seek the most will come in to our lives.Being monogamous is a CHOICE.

In this time and age, most people don't believe in monogamous relationships. I find this sad and ironically funny. Why? Because people, most especially the young, loves to explore and have flings and whatnot, and then sooner or later, when they find the one they think they can settle down with, they whine and complain if their partner is not faithful to them! LOL.

Personally speaking, I believe and follow on monogamous relationships. Some people, including me, take these things seriously. And monogamous relationships is never a thing of the past, as long as people are willing to love unconditionally.

Americans aren't the only people on this planet who feel they need to have mutiple partners. It is a worldwide problem.

The problem with the MTV, pop culture world we live in is that being in a monogamous relationship isn't cool or looked down upon. You aren't the man (or woman) if you haven't conquered your fair share of ***. Actually this problem predates MTV by a long time.

In our parents day, one could have sex with as many people as they could and the worst thing that could happen is that a kid can pop out in nine months or someone gets a bad case of some herpes. Nowadays that is the least of your problems thanks to the many venereal diseases we have in the world. The Sexual Revolution is over. We lost big time.

Monagamy should be the order of the day. Pick one person and stick with them. Who knows? It sure would go a long way towards fighting the many VDs like AIDS, but there are many out there who scoff at serious solutions like this as being too religious, right-winged or prudish.

Americans arent the only ones, people in general are evolving. But many years ago men cheated on their wives as well, it was just more acceptable because women had less rights and less say in the household. All men were the heads of the house, and most women didnt even work. If anything its a good thing, because women are no longer confined to simply obeying their husbands and raising kids---if your wife is happy---you are too. Cheating is also a product of both people failing.

Even though my ex husband thought he needed to be with more ppl..I just feel you need to find the right person out there for you and then they will be all that you or they need..I have been with my hubby for 9yrs now and there will never be another for us..I had to go through an a**hole first but in the end it has been worth every minute..We have 5 kids and can't wait to spend the rest of my time on earth with him and the kids ...I can say I will love him for the rest of my life..

Yes it seems that way! If a relationship can not be monogamous then it should not be called a relationship! People need to be faithful to each other!

it seems that way. but then again the adult sites only show those who go for it and not those who refuse to do it. and those who are monogamous are not noticed because they are thought of as boring. and so many want to try "something new" that they dont see those who are good for them until its too late.

A good man who is faithful to his partner truly stick to one his only partner. Why? Does the value of being faithful to your partner diminishes now...No, i guess... Every principle in life are base on basics... Take one partner only.. Then if your relationship broke down , then thats the time to take another...

According to Hugh Hefner and most of America, yes. Sadly.

According to me, heck no. I believe in 100% monogamy in relationships, anything else is considered cheating in my book.
