This is my first Thanksgiving in the free world and it is going to be totally traditional. For 17 1/2 years while serving a sentence for a crime I did not commit, I made do with the dinner the prisons put on, which isn't really very good at all, so now I get to make my own for my family and I am thrilled. Have a blessed Thanksgiving, whatever you decide to make.

I'm not entirely sure yet. This is my 2nd thanksgiving that I am cooking dinner. But it will be my first Thanksgiving dinner where I am cooking for my family and guests. So I want to make something special and create some new Thanksgiving traditional foods. Plus I need to show off my new skills from culinary school lol.

I know I am making;

Turkey
Green Bean Casserole
My mom's cheesecake recipe
Mini pumpkin pies for the kids (did those last year and they were adorable)
Stuffing (not sure what kind)

And I don't know what else yet.

I found a recipe for Pancetta-wrapped turkey. Mmmmmm.

It is my wedding anniversary that day, and our first Thanksgiving in CA. (Our families are in the midwest) I am excited to make something special this year.

Turkey (roasted or fried), oyster dressing, cauliflower with cheese sauce, cranberry sauce (jellied and homemade sugar free), possibley sweet potatoes and pie (pecan and probably sugar free apple). That is unless Mom decides too much trouble and we go out for dinner.

We're Italian, so we usually have lasagna, or stuffed shells...zucchini pie, fried ravioli's, my mom usually cooks a ham also. We have anti pasta and deviled eggs. Usually some kind of dip. We have lots of desserts also like cheesecake with blueberry's, or cannoli's....sometimes we try to do different things but its usually all Italian foods. ;-)
